Training: ‘Strengthen institutions for the poor’

ISLAMABAD: There is a need to build and strengthen institutions for the poor and marginalised communities, especially women. This was said by Qazi Azmat Isa, Chief Executive Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), at the conclusion of a ten-day training on the “Role of Community Institutions in Development Process” for South Waziristan-based implementing partner organisations carrying out interventions in Jandola Tehsil. The objective of the training was to develop institutions in South Waziristan to take development initiatives focusing on the poor and women so that they can have access to mainstream market and public provision including health and education.
