SUKKUR:

The former provincial home minister, Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, visited the house of Raja Rind, the man who took his life in front of parliament.

The visit to Haji Sain Dad village, in Naushehro Feroz district took place on Wednesday. According to Raja’s cousin, Ali Nawaz Rind, Mirza visited his house to offer his condolences to Rind’s father and family.

Mirza said that it was regrettable that a young man had killed himself because of unemployment in the era of a democratic government. He announced to give a cheque of Rs500,000 from his own pocket to Raja’s family. “It will not bring him back but it will help his family through tough times.” Raja’s younger brother Rabnawaz Rind requested Mirza to help him get a job in a government department. But Mirza refused because ‘he was no more part of the government and was helpless’.
