Calling for investment: Bidding held to award cable TV licences

ISLAMABAD: In a move to provide increased access to television to the more remote areas of the country, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) held a public bidding to award cable television licences in 12 tehsils on Thursday. Pemra had invited this competition soliciting expression of interest (EoIs) through print media. Pemra has initiated the issuing of cable television licences through bidding to professional companies registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.
