Independence Of Judiciary: Governor Khosa lauds lawyers’ efforts

Khosa said that the PPP had empowered the lawyers as it was a lawyers-friendly party.

LAHORE: Punjab Governor Latif Khosa said on Wednesday that the lawyers’ movement played a pivotal role for the rule of law, respect for the constitution and independence of the judiciary which was one of the essentials of a democratic state. Addressing a cheques distribution ceremony at a local hotel, Khosa said that the PPP had empowered the lawyers as it was a lawyers-friendly party. He said allocation of the Evacuee Trust Board land on Dev Samaaj Road in Lahore for Benazir Shaheed Lawyers Hospital is worth more than Rs 1 billion and the hospital would be completed by the federal government.
