LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Thursday ordered Fesco and Gepco to sack 1,345 employees who had been allegedly appointed on the basis of political favouritism.

A petition in this regard was filed by a citizen named Imran who maintained that Fesco and Gepco did not hire people on merit and recruitments were politically motivated.

Justice Mansoor Shah ordered the sacking of these employees, while LHC has also directed fresh hiring of staff on a proper merit based system.

Most of the employees in question are assistant linemen and lower staff.
