Highway disaster: Bus carrying 40 pilgrims meets accident

KARACHI: A bus carrying 40 Pakistani pilgrims from Sialkot, placed in Maktab No. 73, met an accident while travelling from Makkah to Madinah on Saturday.

According to a message received from Director General Hajj Abu Ahmad Akif, the accident led to 31 pilgrims being injured. The accident occurred in Vadi Furra, located about 120 kilometres from Madinah.

Upon receiving the report from a Pakistani resident in Saudi Arabia, who was travelling behind the bus, the Pakistan Hajj Mission immediately contacted one of the passengers on the bus and inquired about everyone’s condition.

They also dispatched a team comprising doctors of the Hajj Medical Mission including two surgical specialists. The wounded were shifted to various hospitals.
