The protest was held regarding the non-payment of their salaries.
The police had cordoned off the park to prevent the protestors to come out on the Mall road, but the protestors broke out through on the park's gates and blocked the Mall road.
Another health worker was injured following clashes with the police.
The workers had not been paid for the past three months which led them to come out on the streets.
Earlier, the Lady Health Workers had threatened to protest if their unpaid salaries were not given to them by Oct 15.
Last week, during a protest, the women got so desperate that the lady health workers association chairperson, Bushra Arain, and two others tried to set themselves on fire, but were stopped by the police.
Arain said that the government is denying the workers salaries, bringing their families to the brink of starvation. Despite repeated promises, LHWs are not being regularised and now they are not even being paid, she complained.
Nearly 26,000 staffers of the government’s family planning and primary healthcare unit have been continuously protesting against the non-payment of their salaries saying that they have not been paid Rs7,000 for the last four months.

So Shahbaz Sharif could not find one trustworthy person to take care of the salary payment job? How many jobs will he take upon himself? No-wonder he is failing in all of them by telling all helping political leaders & professional officers to sit at home. He can sit in all offices at the same time. I mean either he lacks the skill of "delegation of authority" or there is no one qualified enough in the party. That's bad for a future the of Punjab.
@Khurram Mansoor: No sir. It is a healthy sign. Some women are fighting for their rights. Pakistan mein dum hai.
RIP. There is no any minister of health in Punjab. Max departments are working under the CM. There is a 1 man show in Punjab.
Where there is no law, there is a law minister.
What is happening, every thing is going broke.
