Qari Inayat was arrested, near Mobeen Mosque, in a raid which was jointly conducted by Islamabad Police and Crime Investigation Department (CID) personnel.
Police said that Inayat was wanted in different cases and two First Information Reports had already been registered against him.
“One was registered on August 26, 2011 at the Aabpara Police Station and the other one was registered with the Secretariat police,” said an official.
A police source said that Inayat has close links with Sardar Ali Khan Khattak, the man accused of planning an attack on the occasion of Youm-ul-Quds in federal capital.
The official further said, “On Monday, Inayat was going to meet with the wife of Sardar Khattak in G-6/1 and on a tip off, police raided the place and arrested him.” He was shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigations.
Khattak was earlier arrested from the capital on August 31 and police had recovered a suicide jacket from his house. He was serving as a naib qasid (clerk) in the Finance Division and had been on leave for the last two years.
“Khattak is the ring leader of the terrorist cell that had allegedly planned to target a high-profile government installation in the city,” said the official.

@navran: Yes what do you think is Shiv Sena. I have always heard Pakistani calling for action against Shiv Sena but for what ? Are they implicated in any violence where they killed muslims ? They fight for anything and everything which is against Maharashtra including even the North Indians. They are extreme rightist politicians who just give inflammatory speech and has very limited listeners within state of Maharashtra and beyond Maharashtra nobody cares or listen to what they say. So you asked a good question , what is Shiv Sena ? Don;t just be a parrot and repeat what you just heard. Do some reading, search information, analyze and then comment. About RAW involvement. I will be seriously ignorant if I say RAW is not at all involved in any of Pakistan's trouble. Of course if ISI is involved in activity in India , India has to reply back. But is your ISI really incompetent to not even prove once , not even once, to show involvement of RAW. The only proof you have is your leaders and army blaming RAW at each and every opportunity. Why in past 65 years they never proved any involvement. Just saying RAW is involved in Balochistan is not a proof enough. Its called propaganda. Provide a proof and the propaganda will change into fact. Like we did for Mumbai attack. We provide you all proof. But Pakistan is still afraid to give voice samples of the "suspects". Do you have any answer why ? So stop accusing Shiv Sena or RAW just because some one is finger pointing to the established and recognized terrorist organization in Pakistan.
The freedom fighters are still freedom fighters. What was that incident in Indian Held Kashmir, burrial of hundreds of local kashmiris in common graves. Means open and free massacre of kashmiri people and then u expect to sit quite and don't ask for freedom.what is RAW doing in Baluchistan, is it not state sponsored terrorism. Who is Baal Thakure, is he not terrorist. What is shiv sena? So Dear Girri its not that simple that u blame only Pakistan because it has become the fashion. Soon world will come to know the reality, WHO IS FIGHTING AND WHO IS FIGHTING PROXY WAR.
well looks like pak govt is doing what master USA asked them to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Giri:
dude, it is simple really; if the guy kills your people, then he is a freedom fighter. If he is killing my people, then he is a terrorist.
@Giri: I admit that some Pakistanis do think of such terrorists as freedom fighters if they do their sickening acts outside Pakistan. However, the vast majority of Pakistanis (and by vast i mean all the sane Pakistanis) oppose these terrorist networks and their barbarian crimes all over the world. As a nation we have suffered the most from terrorism and i doubt that any one who has seen his nation get crippled at the hands of terrorists would call them freedom fighters. I for one, call 9/11 a terrorist act regardless of whoever carried it out, in-spite of all the controversies out there claiming it to be an inside job or whatever. The same label goes for the Mumbai attacks, or the London train bombings, or suicide bombings in Pakistan and Afghanistan and Iraq and everywhere else. I don't know which country you are from, but I want you to know that the majority of Pakistanis would support innocent people over terrorists anytime of everyday. We aren't terrorists; in fact we are the worst victims of terrorism. I hope the wider world understands it soon too. Lastly, if your country faced ANY kind of terrorist act, then accept my condolences. I hope that whoever was guilty of such inhuman crimes get punished as harshly as possible and I hope that those affected find peace and happiness soon. May peace prevail soon especially in Pakistan.
@Giri: we still call kashmiri freedom fighters, "freedom fighters" and afghan infiltrators as "terrorists"...and we continue to call them the same no matter where they are, in india, america, afghanistan, paris, london or even new york !
@Giri Please donot foreget who used to call them mujahedeen during the proxy war agianst the soviets??? why west is supporting rebels in libya??? the fact is that first sow the seeds and then try to get rid of them when they do not obey west and ammericans, not so simple........India is no exception......hostil afganistan is not the single example.
good work ....
"Suspected terrorist arrested in Islamabad" - A caption in a pakistani newspaper!!!!!! Sounds funny.. You guys actually using the word 'terrorist'!!!!! You guys used to call them freedom fighters right?? Why the change. You can still continue using the same word now. What if it happens in india, america, afghanistan, paris, london or newyork. They are freedom fighters!!
