Violence Against Women: Raising awareness on police procedure

Cholistan Development Council held a meeting to review programmes with regards to issues regarding women’s rights.

BAHAWALPUR: The Cholistan Development Council of Pakistan held a meeting on Sunday night to review upcoming programmes with regards to issues regarding women’s rights. According to officials, the council will focus on measures for protecting women against torture while in police custody, jails and in Darul Amaan. The participants decided to conduct a training programme in the first week of October on this issue to raise awareness among the public and the all concerned authorities with regards to the importance of safeguarding women rights.
