Lena Dunham reveals her husband thought she was a 'curve model' before blind date
Dunham found the misunderstanding endearing, describing it as one of the most refreshing aspects of their connection

Lena Dunham has shared a light-hearted revelation about her husband, British-Peruvian musician Luis Felber, recalling that he had never seen her hit HBO series Girls before they met and initially assumed she was a “curve model”.
Speaking during a recent Q&A event on her Famesick book tour, the actress and writer explained that Felber went into their first blind date in 2021 without any real awareness of her fame or past work. Instead, he had been told about her through a mutual friend and, upon hearing a description, concluded she might be known for modelling.
Dunham said she found the misunderstanding endearing, describing it as one of the most refreshing aspects of their early connection. According to her, Felber’s lack of preconceived ideas meant he was able to approach her as a person rather than a public figure, something she deeply appreciated.
The pair first met after being set up on a blind date in London. Their connection was immediate, with Dunham previously noting that they quickly bonded and moved in together within months of meeting. They married later in 2021 in a private ceremony.
Felber, who performs under the stage name Attawalpa, has since collaborated with Dunham on several creative projects, including composing music for her film and television work. Dunham has often spoken warmly about their relationship, highlighting his kindness and emotional presence as key foundations of their marriage.
The story has resurfaced as part of renewed interest in Dunham’s career and personal life following her recent memoir tour, where she has been reflecting on relationships, fame, and how they intersect.
