Several stars of the hit Prime Video romance series Off Campus originally auditioned for completely different roles before ultimately landing the characters fans now associate them with.

Actress Mika Abdalla initially auditioned to play Hannah Wells before she was eventually cast as Allie Hayes. Showrunner Louisa Levy later revealed that she and co-showrunner Gina Fattore had unknowingly already envisioned Abdalla as Allie while developing the show.

Levy explained that the creative team even used photos of Abdalla as inspiration for Allie’s fake social media profiles and character mood boards before the actress officially auditioned for the series.

The report also noted that several cast members explored different characters during the audition process as producers searched for the right chemistry to bring Elle Kennedy’s bestselling hockey romance novels to life.

Ella Bright ultimately landed the role of Hannah Wells opposite Belmont Cameli as Garrett Graham, with their chemistry reportedly becoming obvious during auditions.

The Prime Video adaptation of Off Campus premiered in May 2026 and quickly became a breakout streaming hit, launching its young cast into overnight fame while also sparking online discourse surrounding the original book series by author Elle Kennedy.
