2011 Floods: SMS to be used for funds collection

Khan urges the IT and Telecom sector to come forward to reduce the miseries of flood-affected people.

ISLAMABAD: A Short Message Service (SMS) system is to be launched for collecting funds for flood-stricken people, said Secretary for Information Technology and Telecommunication Saeed Ahmed Khan on Wednesday.

Khan urged the IT and Telecom Sector to come forward to reduce the miseries of flood-affected people. He directed telecom operators to contribute philanthropically to the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund. Representatives of the Multinet Company briefed the Secretary IT about relief activities in flood affected areas.
