Last week, former NFL wide receiver Randy Moss revealed he was dealing with a health issue, though he provided few details, prompting an outpouring of support from fans.

ESPN later confirmed that Moss, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and current Sunday NFL Countdown analyst, would be taking a leave of absence to focus on his illness.

On Tuesday evening, however, Larry Fitzgerald Sr., the father of former Arizona Cardinals star Larry Fitzgerald Jr., made a post on X (formerly Twitter) suggesting that Moss was battling liver cancer. This news intensified concerns about the health of the former NFL superstar.

In response, Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre expressed his support for Moss and his family on X, writing, “Prayers to Randy Moss and his family. Randy is and will always be one of the all-time greats to ever run a route. Definitely on the NFL WR Mt. Rushmore.”

However, Moss' son, Thaddeus Moss, quickly responded to Favre’s message, denying the report.

Randy Moss and Favre shared one season together with the Minnesota Vikings in 2010. That year, Moss had 28 catches for 393 yards and five touchdowns, but the Vikings finished with a disappointing 5-11 record. Moss’ career continued with the Tennessee Titans in 2012 before he retired.

Thaddeus Moss, who helped lead LSU to a national championship in 2019, was undrafted in 2020 and played for both the Washington Football Team and the Cincinnati Bengals before retiring in 2024.
