Israeli attack kills three Palestinians, injures 9 in north Gaza

At least three Palestinians were killed, and nine others injured in Israeli attacks targeting two homes in northern Gaza, according to Palestinian Civil Defense officials.

The attacks come amidst ongoing hostilities in the blockaded territory.

The first attack hit a house belonging to the Nassar family, where three bodies were recovered from the rubble, and five individuals were rescued.

In a separate attack in Gaza's Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, four injured victims were transported to Baptist Hospital for treatment.

Previously, Israeli military attacks killed at least 26 Palestinians across Gaza on November 28, medics said, as forces stepped up their bombardment of central areas and tanks pushed deeper into the north and south of the enclave.

The escalation came a day after Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah began a ceasefire in Lebanon, halting more than a year of hostilities and raising hopes among many Palestinians in Gaza for a similar deal with Hamas, which rules the enclave.

However, recent developments show Lebanon's military has accused Israel of violating the fragile ceasefire with Hezbollah, now in its third day.

Over the past year, the genocide has caused widespread destruction in Gaza, claiming more than 44,300 lives, primarily women and children, according to Palestinian officials.

Displacement and humanitarian crises have worsened, with over 104,900 people injured and most of the territory's population forced to relocate.

The attacks follow intensified international criticism of Israel’s actions. Last week, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing alleged war crimes in Gaza.

Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.

The ongoing military offensive has devastated Gaza's infrastructure and economy. According to the United Nations, approximately 70% of those killed are women and children.

Uprooted families face severe food and water shortages, with many struggling to find basic necessities.

While hopes for a ceasefire similar to the recent Israel-Lebanon truce remain, efforts to broker peace in Gaza have yet to yield significant progress. US President Joe Biden recently called for renewed negotiations, urging all parties to seize the opportunity for peace.

The situation in Gaza continues to draw international attention, with global leaders and humanitarian organizations emphasizing the urgent need for resolution to the conflict.
