'Told you Imran's political grave will be dug by his own,' Vawda slams Bushra Bibi's remarks

Senator Faisal Vawda refers to Bushra Bibi's remarks as "dangerous."

Senator Faisal Vawda has reacted to a recent statement by Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, reaffirming his earlier warning that Khan's political downfall would come at the hands of his own allies.

In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Vawda referred to Bushra Bibi's remarks as "dangerous" and reiterated his previous prediction that Imran Khan’s political demise would be caused by his own circle.

"As I had said earlier, Khan Sahib's political grave would be dug by his own people, and exactly that is happening now," Vawda stated.

Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI chairman Imran Khan, stirred controversy by making remarks that has triggered a scathing response from the government.

She claimed that after her husband's first barefoot visit to Medina, General Qamar Javed Bajwa received calls questioning questioning, "What have you brought here?"

She said the callers expressed concerns about efforts to abolish Shariah and called the couple "overseers of Shariah.”

Bushra also claimed she and Imran had been targeted ever since, with smear campaigns calling him an "agent of the Jews."

She suggested that General Bajwa and his family could corroborate the incident, but the ex-army chief has categorically denied these claims.

Meanwhile, Vawda also commented on PTI's planned protests on November 24, following a ruling by the Islamabad High Court barring such demonstrations.

He warned that anyone defying the court's orders by attempting to gather in Islamabad could face serious legal consequences.

"If anyone tries to come to Islamabad on the 24th, despite the court's orders, they will not only lose their seats as Members of the National Assembly (MNA) or Provincial Assembly (MPA), but the government is ready to take strong action," Vawda said.

He added that individuals involved in the protest could face house arrests, imprisonment, or even be sent to high-security jails, such as the infamous Mianwali Jail.

Senator Vawda further warned that even those recently released could face re-arrest, emphasising, "Do not forget, those who were released could also be arrested again. Don’t complain later."

As PTI gears up for its November 24 protest, the government has implemented stringent security measures, including the imposition of Section 144 across Punjab for three days and the deployment of thousands of personnel in Islamabad to ensure public safety.

Authorities in Islamabad have sealed off routes to the Red Zone and deployed Rangers at key government buildings.

Multiple roads, including the Srinagar Highway, GT Road, and routes to Islamabad Airport, have been blocked with containers, and heavy security forces, including police and FC, are stationed around D-Chowk.

In addition, internet and mobile services have been partially suspended in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab as a precaution. Public transport, including metro bus services in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, has been halted, and all bus terminals at Faizabad have been barricaded.

Exams scheduled for today at Allama Iqbal Open University have also been postponed.

Meanwhile the PTI leadership has reaffirmed its plan to march to Islamabad tomorrow, with a sit-in at D-Chowk despite any obstacles.

Party spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram stated that PTI will 'break through any barriers' to reach D-Chowk and will not leave until their goal is achieved.

He emphasised that the right to 'peaceful protest' is guaranteed by the Constitution and declared that the nation will take to the streets on November 24.

The party earlier finalised its protest strategy, which includes the mobilisation of heavy machinery for the planned demonstration.
