Rapper Young Thug is wasting no time returning to the spotlight after being released from jail last week.
Having spent two and a half years behind bars, he secured his freedom by taking a plea deal in the high-profile YSL RICO case — Georgia’s longest-running and one of its most contentious trials. Thug now faces a 15-year probation term but appears ready to dive back into music, beginning with a reunion with his mentor, T.I.
On November 4, T.I. shared a video on Instagram showing the two Atlanta rappers hanging out, with Thug expressing excitement for his comeback. “Back, Jack… No cap in my rap. The right way,” Thug told viewers in the video. In his caption, T.I. hinted at possible new music, writing, “The Kings have Reconvened… Guess I’m officially outta retirement… For tonight.”
Thug’s reunion with T.I. is just the beginning. In a social media post shortly after his release, Thug reached out to fellow rapper Lil Baby for a collaboration, saying, “Wham let’s drop one on these rats.” Supporting the buzz, billboards in Los Angeles and Chicago have appeared with the phrase, “Whatever Wham Says Goes,” signaling Thug’s return to the music scene.
