Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Barrister Gohar, has said that denying political space to the country’s most popular party will only benefit non-political forces.

Speaking to media representatives in the provincial capital, he emphasised that curbing political participation could destabilise the country.

“If the most popular party is not given space, non-political forces will gain the advantage,” Gohar warned, urging the authorities to reconsider their stance.

He also highlighted that PTI had consistently sought necessary permissions for its rallies, but restrictions were often imposed, making it difficult to conduct events.

“This is not a film shoot where you can allot time slots,” he remarked, adding that despite the limitations, PTI adhered to its schedule.

The PTI chairman noted that while Punjab and Sindh leadership were able to attend the rally, leaders from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were prevented due to roadblocks.

He reiterated the party’s support for Ali Amin Gandapur and criticised recent amendments, which he claimed served only the interests of a few.

Calling on the authorities to ease restrictions, Gohar said, “Hardships must end for matters to progress. If we continue these experiments in Pakistan, non-political forces will benefit.”

He urged the judiciary to focus on strengthening the Supreme Court, dismissing the need for “constitutional courts” and pointing out that the Election Commission’s petition could have been handled in chambers without the need for a full hearing.

He also noted that PTI has always funded its rallies through party resources without relying on government assistance.
