An MBBS student from Rahim Yar Khan has passed away due to illness while studying in China.

Following assistance by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, arrangements are being made to facilitate the transfer of the body to her homeland. According to officials, it will be transferred to Pakistan on September 29, for which the government is in contact with the Pakistan embassy in Beijing, the family of the deceased and the university.

Farhana, a resident of Pakalraan who was studying for an MBBS degree in China, passed away after completing two years of education due to illness. According to her relatives, her family had been asked to pay millions of rupees for transporting her body back home. Her parents had appealed on social media to human rights organisations and the government to facilitate the repatriation.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, stated that the government is in contact with the Pakistan embassy in Beijing, the family of the deceased and the university to arrange for the repatriation of the body. Legal requirements and regulations for the transportation are being fulfilled. Special arrangements are required for the transfer of the body via commercial flight.
