Former Pakistan cricketer and chief selector Wahab Riaz recently shared an intriguing anecdote involving legendary fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar and Bollywood star Katrina Kaif.

Appearing on a comedy show on a private news channel, Wahab detailed the story, which shocked his fellow cricketers.

Wahab recalled an incident from a tour in New Zealand, where the team had gathered in Shoaib Akhtar’s room for dinner.

As they ate, Katrina Kaif’s popular song Sheila Ki Jawani played on the television.

At this point, Shoaib casually mentioned to his teammates that he knew Katrina Kaif and had a friendship with the Bollywood actress.

This revelation took the players by surprise, especially Mohammad Hafeez, who was visibly shocked.

Wahab shared that none of the players believed Shoaib’s claim, and some even doubted his story.

Frustrated by the disbelief, Shoaib Akhtar, known for his strong personality, asked the players to leave his room, stating, “You all think I’m lying.” The players were eventually forced to finish their meal at a restaurant after Shoaib kicked them out.

Wahab also noted that Shoaib had a long-standing connection to Bollywood, having played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008. Shoaib is often seen as a close friend of Bollywood heavyweights Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, adding some credibility to his claim about knowing Katrina Kaif.

The story, shared in a humorous light, gave viewers an inside look at the lighter moments within the national cricket team’s dressing room, showing that even seasoned players like Shoaib Akhtar can surprise their teammates
