70 dengue cases recorded

LAHORE:

The Punjab health department has confirmed 70 new cases of dengue recorded across the prov-ince during the last 24 hours.

A spokesperson for the department said out of these, 60 cases were reported in Rawalpindi, three cases in Lahore, while Chakwal, Lodhran, and At-tock each recorded two cases.

Over the past week, 326 new cases of dengue virus infections have emerged, bringing the total number of cases in Punjab to 958 for 2024.

The spokesperson for the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department confirmed that preventive measures were fully in place.

Public hospitals have been stocked with necessary medicines, including treatments for dengue. In re-sponse to the rising cases, the health department issued advisory, urging citizens to maintain clean and dry surroundings to prevent mosquito breeding.
