Customs officials seize smuggled Iranian diesel worth Rs8m

During the operation, 29,500 litres of smuggled diesel were discovered in an underground tank

Pakistan Customs in Karachi has been actively conducting anti-smuggling operations with a recent seizure of Iranian smuggled diesel valued at Rs8 million.

Deputy Collector of Customs, Raza Naqvi, reported that a raid was carried out at the Ajmer Petrol Pump located on Northern Bypass on Saturday, according to Express News. 

During the operation, 29,500 litres of smuggled diesel were discovered in an underground tank. The total value of the seized diesel is Rs8 million, the Express News reported.

According to Naqvi, the seized Iranian diesel has been transferred to the ASO warehouse, and a case has been filed under the Customs Act. Further investigations into the matter are ongoing.
