PAKISTAN:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is reportedly considering a change in its candidate for the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) once again.

According to sources, internal discussions have begun within the party to replace Sheikh Waqas Akram with another candidate.

Some party members are advocating for Aamir Dogar to be nominated as the new candidate for PAC chairman, instead of Akram.

The final decision is expected soon, with the PAC chairman election scheduled for 15 September.

PTI is evaluating its options carefully, as the choice of candidate for this influential position is seen as crucial in the current political landscape.

Previously, the PAC chairman position has been a source of contention within PTI, particularly after Sher Afzal Marwat, who was initially named by the party, openly criticised the leadership.

This led to his suspension on 12 July, following directives from party founder Imran Khan.
