Choosing a career in the world of film and television means an unwritten contract between you and the public: you provide the entertainment, and the public assumes (without asking) the right to form theories and ask questions about your personal life. Actor Affan Waheed is no exception, with gossip-savvy fans linking him left and right with upcoming starlet Sidra Niazi. Whilst promoting his upcoming film Mastaani, the actor once again patiently cleared the air about his and the Dhoka actor's relationship.

"Sidra and I go back a long way," explained Affan. "We're family friends. It has nothing to do with the media. We knew each other from before. When Sidra got famous, people started making assumptions about us meeting - but because we already knew each other, we used to meet each other before as well."

In case there was still any confusion, Affan firmly quashed any lingering hopes fans may have about wedded bliss between the two actors. "No, there's nothing like that," he said firmly.

Affan went on to stamp out wedding plans in general on the horizon, adding that the biggest thing in his life right now is the release of his latest project, the so-called rom-com thriller Mastaani, where fans will see him playing the male lead opposite former model Amna Ilyas.

This is not the first time the dashing young actor has been romantically linked with one of his cohorts. Earlier this year in January, Affan had to debunk rumours that he was involved with his Pardes costar Durefishan Saleem, especially after the pair appeared in a wedding photo shoot together.

"It was a photo shoot for a brand, nothing more than that," he reminded viewers on an appearance on Hasna Mana Hai. "We do bridal shoots, and then people think we've gotten married. Especially on YouTube."
