BALAKOT:

The first snowfall of the season has descended upon Babusar Top, a renowned tourist destination in the breathtaking Kaghan Valley. This snowfall has brought a significant drop in temperature. Tourists at Babusar Top were thrilled to experience the one-inch snowfall.

Heavy rain continued to lash Balakot and Kaghan Valley for the second consecutive day. The relentless downpour led to the re-flooding of Manor Nullah, which once again inundated Mahandri Bazaar with water.

As the water flow increased, the administration was forced to halt traffic beyond Mahandri. However, as the water subsided, traffic to Kaghan Valley was resumed. The Kaghan Highway was closed for several hours due to flooding in Bhangian Nullah, resulting in long queues of vehicles on both sides of the road.

According to the Met Dept, this spell of rain is expected to continue for another two days. In light of this, the admin has advised tourists and passengers to avoid unnecessary travel during this period.

Travellers have been instructed to exercise extreme caution while on the road.
