KARACHI: The Rizvia police arrested an imposter dressed in a Rangers uniform on Friday. He was associated with the Awami National Party and the defunct Peoples Amn Committee, said the police.

The imposter was conducting snap checking in the area alone, which drew the attention of the Rizvia SHO. “His confidence impressed me,” he said. “But the fact that he was conducting snap checking alone, was suspicious.”

He was presented to the city court which sent him to jail. The police said that they are trying to get his custody again because he can provide information regarding several criminal and terrorism cases, and is also allegedly involved in several robberies which occurred during snap checking.

They said that they are also trying to locate the whereabouts of his companions. The SHO said that the man seemed to know a lot of information about Rangers officials and their intelligence network. This is why he was able to fool the law-enforcement agencies for a considerable time.
