Ray Kurzweil, an American computer scientist and Google engineer known for his accurate tech predictions, has revealed his latest forecasts in his new book, "The Singularity is Nearer."

Kurzweil, who foresaw the rise of the iPhone and predicted computers beating humans at chess, now envisions a future where humans merge with AI, achieving immortality by 2045 as published in Uniladtech website.

Kurzweil's latest predictions suggest that advancements in AI technology will allow people to connect their brains to cloud technology, potentially bringing the dead back to life. He has personally been working on resurrecting his father, who died when Kurzweil was 22, by preserving his letters, essays, and musical compositions digitally.

“We are already creating through our digital activities enormously rich records of how we think and what we feel,” Kurzweil said. He believes that in the 2030s, the ability to connect our neocortices to the cloud will extend our thinking, making AI an extension of ourselves rather than a competitor.

Kurzweil also predicts that by the 2030s, robots will be able to build skyscrapers using 3D printers, making luxurious living inexpensive. His predictions have sparked a range of reactions online. Some view him as an inspiring visionary, while others consider his forecasts overly optimistic.

“He’s very inspiring to talk to but he’s always been incredibly optimistic,” one Reddit user commented. “I would say he’s more of a visionary than accurate in predictions.” Another noted, “He's around 80% accurate, which isn't bad at all for predicting the future.”

While Kurzweil's predictions paint a dramatically different world, only time will tell if his vision will come to pass.
