Bill Skarsgård is returning to the chilling world of Stephen King's It, reprising his role as the fearsome Pennywise in the upcoming Max It prequel series, Welcome To Derry.

Fans of the iconic horror saga will be thrilled as Skarsgård not only stars but also takes on the role of executive producer.

The new series, which carries the working title Welcome To Derry, is being developed by key figures from the It films, including director Andy Muschietti, producer Barbara Muschietti, and Chapter Two co-producer Jason Fuchs.

These creators have previously shaped the terrifying cinematic experience that grossed a whopping $1.17 billion globally.

Andy Muschietti will helm four episodes of the nine-episode series, which promises to broaden the horizons of the It universe.

Joining the creative team as executive producers are Fuchs, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, alongside Skarsgård, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin.

The teleplay for the inaugural episode is penned by Fuchs, with Kane co-managing the showrunning duties.

The ensemble cast features Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, and James Remar, adding depth and diversity to the already rich narrative.

This project marks a significant return for Skarsgård to the streaming TV landscape under the Warner Bros. Television banner, following his role in the Hulu series Castle Rock.

In addition to his work on Welcome To Derry, Skarsgård's recent appearances include John Wick: Chapter 4, and he is set to feature in upcoming films such as The Crow, Nosferatu, Locked, and Emperor.

He is represented by WME, Magnolia Entertainment, and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman.
