In a recent interview, Bollywood megastar Salman Khan candidly expressed his reluctance to embrace the 'superstar' tag, asserting that nothing about him qualifies as a superstar. Despite the recent success of his latest film, Tiger 3, which hit theatres on November 12 and is enjoying robust box office performance, and the fact that he's built a name and following synonymous with an empire, Salman remains grounded in his approach to stardom.

During an interview with IndiaToday.in, Salman dismantled the notion of being a "superstar," stating, "I have never felt that way. I have never felt like a superstar, ever. My habits are not that of a superstar. The way I travel, the way I dress, there is nothing I do that speaks superstar. My mind is not tuned that way."

Emphasising the point further, he said, "Nothing about me is any superstarry. Nothing at all. I don't think Salman Khan is a superstar. It is all bulls--t. I have never felt it. I am just happy to wake up in the morning, have my coffee and start my day. I just want to give my best."

Known for his casual and unassuming style, Salman emphasised that he finds contentment in the simple pleasures of life, devoid of the trappings associated with the "superstar" label. His down-to-earth demeanour, both in public appearances and personal choices, reinforces his commitment to authenticity in an industry often defined by larger-than-life personas.

The actor, often spotted in casual outfits at Bollywood events, parties, and even red-carpet affairs, remains true to his unpretentious style. Even during various Diwali celebrations this month, Salman stood out with his basic denim looks, diverging from the extravagant fashion choices often associated with Bollywood stars.

In the same interview, the star shed light on the genesis of the immensely popular Tiger franchise, which commenced with the film Ek Tha Tiger. Recalling the inception of the project, he shared, "I heard the narration at my farm, and it was about 2:30 in the afternoon. I heard the synopsis and then the whole script, and I thought it was good. It was my first time working with YRF (Yash Raj Films). Our fathers have been very close."

Salman's father is the veteran scriptwriter Salim Khan, while YRF is helmed by director-producer Aditya Chopra, the son of the late filmmaker Yash Chopra. The familial connection between the Khans and the Chopras played a pivotal role in Salman's collaboration with YRF, marking the beginning of the successful Tiger franchise.

As Salman continues to defy conventional norms of stardom, his genuine and unfiltered perspective resonates with fans, cementing his status not just as a Bollywood icon but as a relatable and authentic personality in the industry.
