RAWALPINDI:

Police have registered a murder case against a man for killing his sister-in-law inside a house within the limits of Naseerabad police station.

A spokesperson for the police said Zahid Khan, a resident of Upper Dir, said his daughter Zubaira was married to Kashif Khan. “My daughter had been staying at my house for almost a month,” the complainant told the police.

“I, my wife Shamar Bibi, son Rizwan Khan, daughter Zubaira and seven-year-old younger daughter Ayesha were present in the house when Zubaira’s brother-in-law Khan Bahadur entered the house and fired at Zubaira,” the complaint said and added that as a result, his daughter sustained injuries on different parts of her body.

The complainant said he along with his son tried to capture the accused but the accused managed to escape taking advantage of the firearm. He said the murder was a result of a domestic dispute between his daughter and her in-laws.

The police registered a case and launched an investigation.

On the same day, Rawalpindi police arrested a man who had shot his ex-wife dead in the jurisdiction of Dhamial police station.

Police said that he was identified as Sher Gul and he killed his wife Saba Gul over a domestic dispute.

The case of the incident was registered at Dhamial police station last month on the complaint of the victim's father. Police traced and arrested the accused Sher Gul with the help of modern technology and human intelligence.

The accused is also wanted in the Nowshera murder case. SP Saddar Muhammad Nabil Khokhar said the arrest of such elements involved in heinous crimes is important in providing justice to the victim's family members, he added.
