Police arrested a man on Sunday over allegedly killing his daughter. According to police sources, jail police constable Arshad reported that his five-year old daughter Anabia Arshad had drowned in the Ganeshwah canal in front of his house earlier this week.
The police, along with Rescue 1122 officials, started a search operation and recovered the body from Taleeri Canal after two days.
The police arrested her father Arshad and started investigating the incident.
During the investigations, the accused confessed that he was suspicious that his wife had an affair with a man from the same locality and doubted that the slain girl was not his.
In a fit of anger, he allegedly threw her in Taleeri canal and reported to police that his daughter drowned in Ganeshwah canal. Further investigations were underway.
