Man guns down wife over domestic dispute

Couple had been experiencing friction in their relationship since they got married

A man allegedly murdered his wife over a domestic dispute in Tahirpura on Sunday.

According to the police, Shaukat Ali shot and critically injured his 29-year-old wife Sajida Parveen.

She was rushed to a hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries.

Initial investigation suggested that the couple had been experiencing conflicts in their relationship.

They had a quarrel recently, following which Shaukat took the life of his wife.

Police officials launched an investigation into the incident and registered a case against the suspect.

Meanwhile, armed men allegedly employed by a local political leader opened fire over a monetary dispute, killing a shopkeeper and injuring two other people.

According to the complaint submitted to the police by Umar Deen, father of the deceased, Amjad Ali, the 28-year-old air conditioner and refrigerator mechanic had entered a cooperative investment arrangement with a woman named Nanni.

Amjad visited the woman’s residence to collect the pooled fund, but a heated altercation erupted between them, after which he returned home.

Subsequently, Nanni sought the intervention of Sidra Saeed who instructed her security guards to bring Amjad, the complainant alleged.

Amjad was at his shop when the armed men arrived to take him away.

A scuffle ensued, drawing the attention of the residents of the area.

Upon facing resistance, the assailants fled the scene, leaving behind a motorcycle.

However, shortly afterwards, Sidra, accompanied by her associates, including Waqar, Shani, Taj, Danish and Nanni, arrived at the scene. During an altercation, the assailants opened fire at Amjad, inuring him in the thigh. ‘

Two other people, Rafiq alias Jhala and Ashraf, also suffered gunshot wounds in the indiscriminate firing.

Amjad succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while Rafiq and Ashraf were rushed to the Allied Hospital for treatment.

The police initiated legal proceedings and registered a case.
