In a first, Umro Ayyar, which is touted to be Pakistan’s first Urdu comic book, has been turned into a film. Teaser for the movie slated to release this year came out in November. The 49-second-clip revealed the title of the project with intense music. The film features an ensemble cast including Saeed, Usman Mukhtar, Faran Tahir, Ali Kazmi, Adnan Siddiqui, Simi Raheal, Sana Fakhar, Manzar Sehbai, others.

The intriguing novels of Umro Ayyar and his magical journey were must-haves for every 90s kid. While PTV gets credit for breathing life into its characters through its majestic series, Ainak Wala Jin, director Azfar Jafri is to be credited for reviving this marvelous hero to give it its due recognition.

No release date for the project has been announced so far.
