Beyond exchanging dossiers

KARACHI: This is with reference to the article “Pakistan urges India to move beyond politics of dossiers” (June 26). It is high time both countries resolve all disputes. Pakistan has done its bit in terms of extending a friendly hand, now the ball is in the Indian court.

Peace between India and Pakistan will enable Saarc to become stronger and play a bigger role in shaping international politics and markets. For the prosperity of the region, it is imperative for India and Pakistan to come to the negotiating table again and produce concrete results.

After all, this is the least that they owe to their people and to their future generations. If this is done, billions of rupees spent every year could be otherwise spent on health, education and other socio-economic needs.
