KARACHI:

Police said on Tuesday they had the main suspect in the murder of a man whose torso and limb were found hidden in different areas near the graveyard in Paposh Nagar earlier this month.

Police said that the victim's wife was responsible for the murder while an accomplice helped her escape.

They said the accomplice was in custody and they had information regarding the whereabouts of the woman.

Paposh Nagar police had found the body parts that were later identified to have belonged to Shahbaz Achakzai, who lived with his and three children in Frontier Colony.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Achakzai's wife, Feroza, had been missing since the incident.

On Tuesday, police arrested a suspect, named Akhtar from Sohrab Goth.

They say Feroza called Akhtar after she murdered her husband.

The two stayed at a house for a day after the incident, after which Akhtar got her a ticket on a bus out of Karachi.

Akhtar's cell phone data showed Feroza's last location in Chaman before her cell phone was shut off.

Police also said that Feroza had been in contact with three other persons and further investigation was underway.
