Promoting Sports: Schoolchildren get football lesson

LAHORE: Children from various schools of the city attended a football training session organised by the British Council on Thursday. The session was conducted by the Pakistan Football team at the Punjab Stadium. The children were given tips by the Pakistani players on how to improve their playing technique. The session was conducted under the British Council’s International Inspiration programme that has been launched to encourage children and youngsters around the work to engage in sports. Speaking to the media, International Inspiration project manager Fahd Shafiq said youngsters in Pakistan took great interest in sports. He said the British Council’s initiative was meant to provide a platform to these youngsters to spend time in healthy activities.
