SINDH/ KARACHI:

The ongoing efforts to unify different factions of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have hit a roadblock as the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chairman Mustafa Kamal insists on changing the party’s name, flag, and electoral symbol.

Sources said the MQM is under immense pressure to change the party’s name, flag, and electoral symbol, but Convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that he would not give in.

If an agreement is reached on unifying all the MQM factions, a central committee will be formed with Dr. Khalid Maqbool as its head. Members will include Dr. Farooq Sattar, Mustafa Kamal, Anees Qaimkhani, Khawaja Izhar, Waseem Akhtar and others.
