PM calls for making a fresh start

Shehbaz expresses hope as new year begins

ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has felicitated the nation on the advent of the New Year, stressing that they should make a fresh start for the country.

In a message, the premier prayed that the New Year dawns with progress and prosperity for the country, a statement by the PM Office said on Saturday.

PM Shehbaz wished that the world takes a positive start with economic and political stability and hoped that the New Year comes as a harbinger to end poverty, wars and terrorism.

The premier recalled that the country faced hardships during the previous year. He noted that the climate change had brought floods in the country in which hundreds of people lost their lives while thousands others were injured.

He renewed the pledge to make tireless efforts to improve economic situation in the country, rehabilitate flood victims, eliminate terrorism and alleviate poverty.
