Police claim CCTV footage shows 40-year-old victim greet killer before incident

KARACHI:

A security guard of a commercial complex, who was found dead on Tuesday morning, was slain by his acquaintance, police said after checking the CCTV footage of the crime scene.

Body of Zahid, 40, was found from a garments factory at Akhtar Compound in Federal B Area Block-22 within the remits of Federal B Industrial Area police station.

His skull was crashed with a heavy object.

Police shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.

FB Area Police Station officer Zahid Ali said that the deceased, Zahid, a native of Dir district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, was working as security guard at Akhtar Compound.

According to the CCTV camera footage obtained by the police, a man came to the compound at about 10pm.

Zahid welcomed him with a traditional Pashtun hug and took him inside.

Then, the individual who had just entered the compound murdered Zahid by hitting him him with

an electric motor.
