ISLAMABAD:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a person for threatening the chief election commissioner (CEC) with dire consequences after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) disqualified PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

The accused wanted to land at Islamabad airport instead of Lahore airport and leave from there.
A video of the accused had gone viral on social media, after which the cybercrime wing of the agency started an inquiry and collected information on him.

On October 14, the accused left for Saudi Arabia from Lahore to perform Umrah, after which information about the accused was sent to airports across the country, including Islamabad airport.

On Friday, instead of returning to Lahore from Saudi Arabia, the accused reached Islamabad airport on a Saudi Airlines flight.

As soon as FIA immigration officials learned about his arrival, he was taken into custody and handed over to the cybercrime wing for further legal action.

The FIA officials said that a case has been registered in the Cyber Crime Wing Lahore, and further investigation is underway.
