An Islamabad District and Sessions Court sentenced three criminals on Tuesday to life imprisonment in the Barrister Fahad Malik’s murder case.
The accused were produced before the court where Sessions Judge Atta Rabbani read the judgment.
After six years of the incident, the court announced its verdict stating that the prosecution has proved its case against the accused persons, namely Raja Arshad Mehmood, Noman Yaqoob and Raja Hashim Khan, “beyond any shadow of a doubt”.
It may be noted that Barrister Fahad Malik was murdered on August 15, 2016 in the Shalimar area of Islamabad police station. His trial case dragged on for six years, with Public Prosecutor Rana Hassan Abbas pursuing the case.

“The accused assembled at the Shalimar police station,” the court judgment read, “and then near sector F10/3 armed with deadly weapons”.
“They created fear and committed riot, they in the prosecution of their common object committed intentional murder of Fahad Malik, caused injury to the complainant Malik Tariq Ayub with a firearm weapon with the intention to kill him,” stated the judgment.
Previously, the Islamabad High Court had suspended an order of the anti-terrorism court (ATC) that had removed terrorism charges in a case on the murder of Barrister Fahad Malik.
The court then sentenced the three criminals to life imprisonment.
The criminals were then transported to Adiala jail from the court under tight security where they are to serve their sentence.
