An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Hyderabad on Friday awarded the death penalty to a man for raping and murdering a minor girl, Express News reported.
The ATC judge also awarded 14 years imprisonment to Usman Bengali in addition to the death penalty.
In 2019, the convict kidnapped the eight-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son of his neighbour Intezar Hussain in Hyderabad. Bengali later injured the son with a sharp object and threw him on the Airport Road.
The convict then took the minor girl to an under-construction house in Bismillah City and raped her. The accused was arrested and the mutilated body of the victim was recovered after her injured brother gave his statement to the police.

According to a report, at least 136 women were kidnapped and 71 raped while 114 cases of sexual abuse of children were reported in the month of August across Pakistan.
The report suggested that kidnapping and physical assault of women, domestic violence and sexual abuse of children were the most reported cases in the country’s mainstream media last month.
