3 militants, one security personnel killed in S Waziristan

Seven security personnel wounded in other attack.

WAZIRISTAN: One security personnel was killed and seven others were wounded in two different attacks on security forces in North and South Waziristan, reported Express 24/7 on Sunday. Three militants were also killed during the attack.

The official sources said that unknown armed militants attacked a check post in Ladha area of South Waziristan earlier on Saturday night which killed one security personnel and three militants.

Meanwhile, seven security personnel were wounded in another roadside bomb attack on security forces convoy in Chashma area of North Waziristan on Sunday morning.

Pakistan Army had earlier said it had successfully completed its Tri Star operation in South Waziristan Agency to flush out terrorists.

The operation was launched on July 13, 2011 in Janata Valley where terrorists had occupied surrounding heights ranging from 4000 to 8000 feet. They made sanctuaries and training centers from where they used to operate into deep South for terrorist activities, planting improvised explosive devises, fire raids and ambushes.
