Three men allegedly abducted an online religious teacher, tortured him and filmed him after forcibly stripping him naked. The accused also allegedly took Rs150,000 from the victim.
Rizwan Ali, a resident of Masjid Hilal Road, used to give religious education to children online. Ali Khan, a resident of Satiana Road, asked to meet him. When they called him outside the madrassa, Rizwan Ali came outside and the armed suspects, riding motorcycles, abducted him.
They allegedly took him to a house near Haseeb Shaheed Colony Hospital, where they forcibly stripped and tortured him with plastic pipes.
Apart from taking Rs42,000 in cash from him, the suspects also took Rs38,000 from the ATM machine, after forcing Rizwan to surrender his ATM password.
Allegedly, the three suspects also asked the victim’s friend, Qari Moeez to bring Rs15,000. The suspects recorded a video of the incident, where they tortured Rizwan after stripping him naked. They used the footage as blackmail material.
The group is reportedly comprised of people from Karachi, who allegedly extort money from citizens after their abduction on a daily basis.
