PDMA ordered to increase stocks of relief goods

The meeting also approved an increase in stockpiles to provide relief to people affected by natural disasters

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo has ordered Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to increase its stockpiles so that relief goods could immediately be dispatched in the event of any emergency.

He was chairing a high-level meeting regarding the PDMA on Friday.

Adviser to the CM on PDMA, Mir Ziaullah Langove, Director-General PDMA, Naseer Nasar and other officials attended the meeting.

The meeting approved the utilization of funds with some amendments to make sure timely support in the case of natural disasters across Balochistan.

The meeting also approved an increase in stockpiles to provide relief to people affected by natural disasters in the province.

“The authority should be strengthened and its stock of goods and medicines as well as tents should be increased to enable it cope with any emergency situation,” chief minister said.

The meeting reviewed the establishment of relief villages at the divisional level to support the affected people across Balochistan.

DG PDMA Naseer Ahmed Nasar thoroughly briefed the meeting about the operations of the authority. The meeting discussed an increase in the establishment budget of PDMA and made an important decision in this regard.
