Over a century old alma mater of the garrison city of Rawalpindi has a history of getting higher positions

Female students of the Government Postgraduate College Asghar Mall Rawalpindi have clinched top positions in the University of Punjab's annual examinations 2021 for master’s programme in Geography Part-l and ll.

Over a century old alma mater of the garrison city of Rawalpindi has a history of getting higher positions in final examinations of the University of Punjab in various disciplines.

Geography Head of Department (HOD) Associate Professor Sajid Mehmood Farooqi said that the Department had produced a 100 per cent result in the annual 2021 examinations of Part-I and Part-II, which is also a record in itself.

He said that the students, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, lockdowns and online classes' fatigue and pressure strived well to get good results in the final examination.

He also appreciated the efforts of his faculty for their hard work to produce such marvellous results.

The first three positions of MSc Geography Part-II were secured by Zainab Bibi by securing 975 marks out of 1200, Asma Tabasum secured 959 marks and Mudassir Ali Abbas 938 marks.

The students passing MSc Geography Part-I with a distinction were Ayesha Khan who secured 479 out of 600 marks, Syeda Zara Batool secured 477 marks and Zainab Zia secured 472 marks.
