ISLAMABAD:

A fire gutted Ghousia plaza in the Blue Area of the federal capital on Wednesday. No casualty was reported in the incident.

Rescue 1122 teams reached the site and started a rescue operation. The fire that broke out in the basement engulfed the entire plaza. Police said that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Just as the fire broke out, hundreds of people working in the offices started running away to save their lives.

Five vehicles of the Capital Development Authority fire brigade reached the spot and started the rescue operation so that the fire does not spread to adjacent plazas. They extinguished the fire after six hours of effort.

According to the plaza owners, the fire erupted due to a short-circuit. SHO Kohsar police station Shabbir Tanoli said that there was no fire safety system in the plaza. Police are looking into the case. An FIR of the incident has also been registered.
