From death hoaxes to ridiculous linkups, we might have come across some of the most bizarre rumours about celebrities. But this one definitely takes the cake. Several years ago, Noori's Ali Hamza made headlines when it was shared that he had been abducted by the Taliban. Many news portals shared analysis on the same, which led to disarray and stress throughout the industry and everyone near and dear to Ali.
However, Ali Hamza is here to finally set the record straight.
In a recent interview with Momina Sibtain, the Meray Log crooner debunked the rumours, adding how he had actually 'eloped' from his house to attend a show in Canada instead. He further added he had met some people who 'looked like the Taliban' and went on to discuss religion at length with them.
"I was never kidnapped by the Taliban. I got to interact with some people who seemed like they were them. It was great fun," he revealed. "I have never spoken about religion so openly before - not even in the cities - as I did there [when I met them]. But I was never kidnapped."
Speaking about what had really happened, the singer revealed, "I ran away." It was then revealed that Ali had a show in Canada, for which he eloped from his house. "Those were the best days of my life at the cost of everyone else's worst days." He also quipped, "It was such an empowering trip. When I got back, I heard all these stories. But yes, I did hurt some people. I'm sorry."
