ABBOTABAD:

Commercial land worth more than Rs30 million was recovered from illegal encroachment near the Muslimabad police check post on Mansehra Road as part of a big operation by the District Administration Abbottabad against land grabbers.

The administration, continuing their drive against land mafia, demolished a newly constructed building that the encroachers had built on the commercial land.

A thorough operation was being conducted to reclaim illegally occupied public property from land grabbers on Saturday and Sunday.

Abbottabad Assistant Commissioner Ehsan Ahsan supervised the demolishment of the newly constructed market and plaza, which was reportedly constructed in three weeks’ time on land owned by the National Highway Authority (NHA).

Interestingly, this construction faced objections from different quarters, including social media, following which the NHA sought the support of local administration.
