ISLAMABAD:

The district and sessions court on Thursday dismissed a private complaint filed by Amjad, an accused and an employee of Therapy Works, seeking proceedings against Investigating Officer (IO) Abdul Sattar and prime suspect Zahir Jaffer in the Noor Muqqadam murder case.

Additional Sessions Judge Atta Rabbani announced the reserved verdict on Thursday.

The complainant, Amjad, who is one of the accused in the Noor Muqqadam murder case, had maintained that the investigation officer declared them suspects instead of witnesses in the murder case to benefit the prime suspect.

He had contended that the investigation officer did not get his blood-stained clothes or the medical certificate.

The complainant has alleged that the investigation officer colluded with Zahir Jaffer, who had fired at him with a 9mm pistol, before physically attacking him.

Amjad had contended that staffers of the Therapy Works took him to the hospital and informed the Kohsar police later.

He had maintained that he had been working for the last over one year in Therapy Works, where addicted patients and mentally deranged people were treated.

Amjad had contended that when they reached the prime suspect’s house at 7:30 pm on July 20, he was in his room upstairs and watchman Iftikhar told the team that Zahir did not have any weapon in his possession.

After waiting for 15 to 20 minutes for Zahir to come down, Amjad and his colleagues scaled up a ladder to his room and witnessed the horrific sight of Noor’s beheaded body.

Amjad had sought action against the IO. However, after listening to arguments from the suspect’s lawyers, the court decided to dispose of the petition.
