Lawmaker submits resolution on inflation

Demands of provincial govt to reduce prices of essentials

A woman lawmaker of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) has demanded of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led (PTI) government to reduce the prices of food items and “make sincere efforts to provide relief to the poor masses”.

It was demanded in a resolution which PML-N’s legislator Unaiza Fatima submitted in the Punjab Assembly secretariat.

She submitted that the government had failed in running the statement mattes inappropriate manners adding the government could not control the price hike in the country.

“The prices are being increased continuously and recently Rs20 have been increased per kilogramme on ghee which is highly regrettable,” she remarked.

“The government is bent upon to force people to commit suicide rather than taking concrete measures to provide relief to the poor masses.”

The government made the life of the masses miserable by increasing petroleum products, electricity and other items. She also quoted an unpleasant incident of Bahawalpur where she claimed a family killed their children and then commit suicide owing to poverty and starvation.

“There are several incidents of suicides due to poverty and inflation but the government did not bother to resolve the issues of the poor segment of the society,” the lawmaker commented in resolution.
